At StoryPoint Mequon
Our memory care neighborhood includes elements of our innovative Connection Points Memory Care Approach by StoryPoint Group to create a more personal and meaningful experience for our residents.
Destination Stations
These are interactive activities chosen around our residents’ specific interests and needs — from a wall-mounted xylophone to textured, touchable artwork, laundry folding stations, flower arranging stations and more.
Color Card System
Our color card system helps employees quickly identify which stage a resident is on in their journey through dementia. Each color communicates the resident’s needs in that stage, so caregivers know how to best communicate, assist and connect with the resident.
Dedicated Memory Care Committee
Led by our Director of Aging and Dementia Services, the committee implements the latest research and recommendations across all our memory care neighborhoods.
Secured Neighborhood
Our memory care neighborhood is secure, so residents can safely and independently move around in a supportive environment. In addition, residents enjoy the privacy of their own apartment.
Revivify Program
Our Revivify Program uses essential oils to help stimulate residents’ appetites and establish more comfortable, enjoyable mealtime routines.
Continuous Employee Training
The employees in our memory care neighborhood receive ongoing training about dementia, including understanding the stages of dementia and how to best care for residents in each stage.
Family-Style Dining
Residents gather around the table for meals and are served from platters presented by our team. This allows residents to see and smell the food, as well as make decisions in the moment. Sitting together also aids in cueing and provides a sense of familiarity.
Spacious Common Areas
Our large common areas offer plenty of room for walking and visiting, and for our daily programming. In addition, our intimate courtyard gives residents access to the sights and sounds of the outdoors.
