After graduating from Madonna University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Gerontology with a specialization in Mental Health and Aging, Kelly began her career with the Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Detroit, serving as their Group Respite Coordinator for 10 years. In this role, Kelly developed the first dementia-specific Adult Day program within the City of Detroit, as well as the first bilingual and intergenerational dementia specific program in Southwest Detroit.

After leaving the Alzheimer’s Association, Kelly was the Resident Life Director for Erickson Living where she oversaw the quality-of-life programs and continuum of care for 1,200 residents. She also served as the Director of Independent and Assisted Senior Services for Presbyterian Villages of Michigan, as well as Executive Director for Brookdale Senior Living, Five Star Senior Living and StoryPoint Saline.

An experienced public speaker, Kelly has presented to the Alzheimer’s Association, National Association of Area Agencies on Aging, The State of Michigan, Brookdale Foundation of New York and the Michigan Association of Adult Day Programs.

Kelly was recently honored in the Inaugural Class of the 2024 Memory Care Innovation Award by Senior Housing News through WTWH Media. The awards spotlight individuals who are blazing trails across the care continuum, all united by a common goal: to redefine the future of aging in America with a focus on high-quality cognitive care.

“I believe in the power of learning from seniors and using their wisdom to make the future brighter.”
