Flint Institute of Arts
A group of Springvale residents and employees visited the Flint Institute of Arts. The museum was huge, and there was so much to see and discuss. We’ll have to return to explore the exhibits we weren’t able to see because we had such a wonderful afternoon.
Flushing Farms
It was a beautiful day for a trip to Flushing Farms. We took a wagon ride, enjoyed cider and donuts, and visited the animals at the farm. Everyone had an excellent time!
Sloan Museum of Discovery
The newly revamped Sloan Museum of Discovery includes four main interactive galleries and a 6,000-square-foot special traveling exhibit gallery. Situated on the campus of the Flint Cultural Center, the Sloan Museum of Discovery is conveniently within walking distance of various entertainment, arts and educational centers.
Applewood Estate
The Applewood Estate is the historic home of automotive pioneer Charles Stewart Mott and his family. His wife Ruth Mott’s wish was to preserve Applewood as a community resource in Charles’ honor. Thanks to Ruth’s foresight, Applewood is now open to the community as a place of learning, beauty and tranquility, with its collections offering insights into history.

FIM Whiting Auditorium
Each year, the FIM Whiting Auditorium hosts the Flint Symphony Orchestra, performances presented by the Flint Youth Theatre, Broadway hits, touring musicals, dance groups and artists from around the world. A major renovation in 1999 restored the Whiting to its former glory, combining the charm and grace of old European theaters with the beauty and comfort of modern day, with seating for 2,000 people.
Elms Park
Swartz Creek has plenty of beautiful parks to enjoy including one of our favorites, Elms Park. On our trips to the park, we look at nature, do some bird watching and most importantly, enjoy some quality time together. It’s always nice to be a kid at heart, even for a short time.
