At our Independence Village communities, our residents typically have two (of many!) things in common: they love pets and they enjoy giving back to the community.
So when the idea came about to make handmade animal toys and blankets to donate to a local shelter, Friendship Animal Protective League, it was no surprise that residents of Independence Village of Avon Lake jumped on the opportunity.
The residents made around 100 tug rope toys and 30 blankets for different sized kennels. They personally delivered their homemade goods to the shelter and were able to interact with the pets.
All of our Independence Village communities are pet-friendly, and we love to see how much joy pets bring to our residents.
