We’re proud to announce that Kelly Moran, our very own Director of Aging and Dementia Services, has been honored in the Inaugural Class of the 2024 Memory Care Innovation Awards by Senior Housing News through WTWH Media. The awards spotlight individuals who are blazing trails across the care continuum, all united by a common goal: to redefine the future of aging in America with a focus on high-quality cognitive care.
It’s one thing to say you care; it’s another to take that compassion and transform it into action and change for the good of others. But that’s who Kelly Moran is. She is a pillar of innovation, leadership and empathy for all who know her. Her wealth of knowledge, gained through 30 plus years of experience, in combination with her care and compassion has made an immense impact on older adults, families and professionals in the aging industry.
“I believe in the power of learning from seniors and using their wisdom to make the future brighter,” Kelly Moran said. “With it, we can change the face of aging around the world.”
Shaping The Future Of Aging
Kelly’s professional journey was significantly shaped by her personal experience caring for her family members with dementia. The more she saw firsthand, the more she knew a better memory care approach was needed. She didn’t just acknowledge it, though; she created it. Collaborating with Megan Kent and leading the Aging
and Dementia Services Team at StoryPoint Group, Kelly crafted the groundbreaking Connection Points Memory Care Approach.
This approach goes beyond just keeping residents safe. It also empowers them to engage and connect. How? It’s built on the foundation of turning everyday interactions into moments of genuine connection. And it’s no surprise — that’s how Kelly has shaped her career and the lives of those around her. Her approach meets residents where they’re at in unique ways, from science-backed methods that encourage residents to eat more to interactive ways for residents, families and employees to connect.
“In addition to her contributions within our organization, Kelly has been a relentless advocate for the mission of memory care and the aging community as a whole. She is deeply committed to changing the face of aging and breaking down the stigma associated with memory care. Kelly’s ability to engage in difficult conversations with family members and provide them with the necessary guidance and support is truly remarkable,” said Megan Kent, Assistant Director of Aging and Dementia Services.
To Kelly, this work is more than just a job; it is a mission fueled by personal experiences and a deep-seated desire to make a difference. Before she was pioneering a brand-new approach to memory care, Kelly was face-to-face with families, sharing in their experiences and helping improve their situations in any way that she could.
“My family and I feel extremely blessed to have Kelly Moran as the Director of Aging and Dementia Services of StoryPoint Group,” Jane Graham said. “My sister Brenda has now been in the memory care neighborhood for about three years. We believe the services are outstanding, and the love the residents and families feel is amazing. Under Kelly’s leadership, residents experience their best, happiest life and families’ experience true comfort.”
There is no one with a more comprehensive understanding of the unique needs of those with memory impairments than Kelly, and there is no one more determined to impact this industry, and the lives of those she serves, for the better.
