at Oliver Woods

When my 93-year-old father's Alzheimers and dementia started to become a real problem a year ago, we were concerned about finding a good place where he could live and be cared for around the clock. We chose Oliver Woods in Owosso, and I cannot praise this facility highly enough. Run wonderfully by Carla LaMarr, with super assistance from folks like Zoie Martinez, Christi, Lilly, and too many others to name... they have all moved mountains to make my dad feel comfortable. He considers this to be his home and did so from the start of his residence there. The atmosphere is pleasant and very clean, and the recreational facilities they offer and the food are all outstanding. But most of all it is the people here... they treat my dad as if he were a part of their own families. They also have wonderful animal visits, from rabbits and dogs to a miniature horse... dad loves seeing them all, and he is happier than I have ever seen him. I highly recommend Oliver Woods!

I recently attended a medieval dinner party Oliver woods held for their residents. Chef Nathan and his staff put on an excellent party with wonderful food options for everyone to enjoy.

This was not my first time being in this facility. My husbands grandpa was placed here as well years ago. I back then always thought this was a nice facility for a loved one. So as I am very pleased with how much the staff does go out of there way to make my Mother feel so at home. They are always keeping me up to date with anything that is going on with my Mother from her medical care to her memory care. Overall this is a great place if your looking to place a loved one. ?

This community has heart- the staff are kind, compassionate, and truly care about the people. From the moment you walk in, Oliver Woods is very welcoming.

Was called to make some exterior repairs due to weather. Beautiful community, friendly staff.

Caring, dedicated and always willing to help. The open and transparent approach builds trust with families, beautiful building and so many happy residents. Care is a priority here and the activities are endless.

Oliver Woods is a beautiful community filled with smiles, compassion, and supportive staff. Not a day goes by the staff here doesn’t give 100% towards their residents.

Mom is a resident with special care needs and has had great care with Oliver Woods and their staff. They always treat her with respect and dignity. They always greet her with a smile and are eager to help.

Upon our arrival at Oliver Woods we noticed one significant difference from other assisted living facilities immediately - Oliver Woods has an at-home feel. The residents are meandering about casually visiting, reading, puzzling, napping, or watching television. It's peaceful and joyful. The next thing you notice is the resident's Activities Calendar. It is chocked full of stimulating events that the residents can choose from at their leisure. Staff visit each hall to invite residents personally to the varying events. These events include things like exercise class (Fabulous! I have personally attended), visits from Pumpkin the pony, the hair salon, church, and/or outings. The food is good, room for improvement here, but I know Oliver Woods is actively working to improve menu options. Cooking for as many folks as they do every day is no easy task. Staff are pleasant to work with and around if you happen to be spending time there as I do. Overall, it's a WONDERFUL place for loved ones.

My mom has been at Oliver Woods for almost 3 years. Although my family and I have developed trust in how the staff care for her, what is more important is how my mom feels. She definitely feels at home and cared for here.

Very caring thoughtful most of the time. Some definitely need more training.
