Loved by Residents & Families

Mom has been a resident now for about 6 months now. She seemed distant and aloof when she first got there. I live on the East Coast and she wasn't too adept at phone calls at first so I relied on FB posts and family calls to see how she was adapting at first. But recently, Mom has been showing up in quite a few more FB pictures and by her smiles, it seems as though this new ownership has turned a corner for her. Thank-you!

I always enjoy visiting my friends at StoryPoint Siena Hills. The residents always seem to be happy and that is a direct reflection of the staff.

I have had the privilege to bring my senior comedy show to many of the Storypoint facilities in central Iowa and have found the audiences fun, engaging and receptive to my unique brand of entertainment. I look forward to a strong relationship in the future with the facilities and their staff.

The staff are very responsive to me and my mother's needs. They seem to care about the ones they have responsibility for.

Everyone I met was so nice and caring. I know we made the right choice.

There were just a couple small things that didn't go exactly perfectly (logistics wise and nobody's fault) but nothing concerning. My mom had nothing but good things to say about the staff and about the meals. She also had nice things to say about the gentleman who would get her to her appointments in the van. The experience was a positive one.

The facility was well knowledged and help make the process go smoother. The gentleman in charge of the intake, unfortunately, had taken a position right as my father moved in. A few weeks later, the director of the facility had given word he was leaving also. These two gentlemen specifically helped the process tremendously.

The facility is very clean and the activities are good! They have had a lot of staffing issues at the facility, not having staff to clean my grandmas room, not having staff at one point to even cook and the administrator had to go cook for awhile in the kitchen alone for the residents. There is disorganization and recent change over in director so things are starting to look up. The main issue is the staffing. The staff they have are very nice, but the lack there of make it hard to get cares or cleaning of the room done and my grandma pays a lot of money to be there.

we had to change her level of care to the memory care unit after 2 weeks and I wish we would have been told that from the beginning. more frequent laundry needed and entire place needs a refresh. very friendly. had a fall within a month. my mom didn't participate in any while in the assisted living area and just watches TV in memory care.

Excellent service, friendly staff and feels like home. I made friends my first day. They have good meals and I was helped within minutes when asked. Wonderful place to live.

Admitting my Mother to a memory care facility is one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. My Mother became a resident at Edencrest Siena Hills at the end of March 2024. Shayla was the first employee we encountered and she was such a calming presence and caring soul. It took a while for my Mother to become comfortable in her new settings, but the staff there was always patient with and kind to her. I had a video chat device in Mom's room that was not functioning properly one evening and I was able to see and hear what was going on in her room, though the staff was unaware. Mercy was so gentle and sweet with her while Mom was having a sundowning episode. Seeing that gave me such comfort and peace knowing that even if I wasn't there in person to oversee, she was being treated respectfully. Another person who was so very valuable to our family is Zach, the maintenance director. This young man went above and beyond in helping us with any needs we had for Mom's room. The aforementioned video chat device was actually installed by Zach for me, although I'm not sure it was something he was required to do. He was always warm and friendly and was happy to be of help in any way. My Mother was recently moved to Nevada to be near family. Even though she is no longer a resident there, Zach has been helpful to me here in getting her video chat device set up. He certainly could have just deleted me from his phone, instead he replies to my questions quickly and thoughtfully. He is definitely an asset to the facility. Alison is very competent at her job, kind and helpful. She had an assistant for a while, and I'm hopeful they can find more help for her. She has too many patients to keep track of and it sometimes took awhile for me to have questions answered. I truly believe this is a staffing issue, not an Alison issue. In summation, Edencrest was a positive experience for my Mother and our family thanks all who cared for her.

Great people

I am basing this off of the memory Care unit since Mom has been there the longest. They're willing to work with families on where to place residents and how to care for each individual resident. With the activities, they could improve by just trying to include the memory care residents more often for having more separate activities for the memory care. Food is hard.. it's tough to cook for that many people and I know they're understaffed. I think they probably do their best.
