We looked at StoryPoint Beaverdale as it was close to where my mother-in-law lived. She wasn't ready to go to assisted living but we wanted to find a place that she could picture herself when the time came. I liked it much better than the other nearby facility I toured. The staff, especially Lauren, were so helpful in giving tours and letting us know what was included. It was clean with many activities which is important for my MIL. She ended up needing to move in sooner than we'd planned and the staff was very helpful in getting her room ready and helping coordinate the physical therapy and doctors appointments that they drive her to. Some PT comes to her there.

Overall, the experience has been average. Cleanliness is excellent, and most of the staff are very friendly. The quality of care ranges from below average to average. The food has been poor, although I have heard it will be changing under the new management. The community has been under new management for about two weeks, so we will see how things improve. The activities are above average, and the value is good. Some employees are amazing, but others, particularly some of the younger and less experienced staff, need more guidance in how to talk to and assist residents. They are also responsible for giving medications, and this does not always get done as it should. It would seem the company needs to hire more experienced CMAs or LPNs with greater knowledge.

I recently toured StoryPoint in Beaverdale. The facility is beautiful and the staff was very friendly and helpful without a heavy sales pitch. They were just there to help and answer questions as I navigated the process.
