Memory care rooms are small. Bathroom door and frame painted the same color as the room, making it more difficult for a person with memory loss to find it. Only have one house keeper, another is needed. Activities have expanded. Need more music programs brought in and pets on a regular basis. Food is usually good with a good variety. Sometimes some odd parings. Serving sizes are adequate. Seconds are available. People are encouraged to eat and helped as necessary. Now that my husband needs to be fed, most caregivers take the time to feed, just a couple quick caregivers give a protein shake and leave it at that. They use red dinner ware which encourages people to eat, research shows. Water and drinks are available anytime. They have essential oils infusing. Most staff are very gentle, caring and attentive. Rarely have I found my husband wet or soiled. Most staff know how to interact with dementia patients. I have heard some scold or correct or reply with irritation. As with all care facilities, adequate staffing is a challenge and staff sometimes are working too many hours. Patience wears thin then. But Maple Lake seems to have a good core of staff that are long term. Positive administrative staff. Yes I would recommend this facility

Staff is friendly and kind. Activities are engaging, fun and diverse. Mom's apartment is large and she has been able to decorate it just how she pleases. The facility is clean, smells good, is well appointed and homey. The outdoor spaces are spectacular. Mom sees a lot of deer, a fox, hummingbirds, ducks and squirrels. The flower containers are gorgeous. The landscaping and covered porch and gazebo are also beautiful. Yes I would recommend Maple Lake.

Lindsey, the Community Specialist, greeted me near the entrance in a welcoming manner and explained the common areas that were visible including a sitting area with fireplace, a nurses station and a dining area that included a soup and coffee bar. We discussed what i was looking for and she then gave me a tour of the Memory Care. Staff were visible and residents were active in the community room working with flowers and some were doing puzzles. They had boxes of games and hands on material for families to use with their loved one and they had a calendar of daily activities that residents could attend. There were patios and outdoor areas that were secure for residents. I was happy that I toured Maple Lake.

This is a cute little community with mostly nice residents. The meals prepared by our chef are excelelnt and visually pleasing. There are plenty of activities for every interest. The staff is great and helpful when needed.

Beautiful grounds, nature to be entertained by, (i.e. birds, squirrels, deer, ducks). I appreciate the guest. Staff are responsive and kind. Lots of planned activities if you don't want to stay in your room.

The staff are extremely friendly, kind and patient. the facility itself is beautiful and the food is excellent. my moms only complaint has been the repetitive activities. more variety would be nice. at times she has told me the scheduled activities don't occur

Caring staff. Good resident to care staff ratio. They try to find strategies that work for the individual residents. Staff members are fairly consistent, so are familiar with residents. Room size is small, but adequate. Food is served family style. Food is home cooking style, meat, potato, vegetable. This seems to appeal to the Residents, as they seem to leave little food. Special dietary needs are catered to. Staff care if residents eat, they find an alternate if needed. Desserts are not homemade and are lacking in appeal. Care staff keep the trash picked up, laundry done, beds made. Housekeeping services could be more attentive, especially to floors.
