Story Point’s kitchen staff does a wonderful job catering for our city events. The food is always well-prepared, presented nicely, and ready on time. We had the absolute pleasure of attending the Mother’s Day Family & Friend Dinner at StoryPoint Shaker Heights and all I can say is WOW. From the moment we walked in, it felt like we stepped into a five star restaurant mixed with the warmth of family. The decorations were beautiful, elegant, and filled with so much love and attention to detail. You could truly feel the heart behind this event. Our group included my mother, her sister, my two cousins, and two close friends, and every single one of us left talking about how incredible the evening was. The food was absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was prepared with care and flavor that honestly rivaled upscale fine dining restaurants. Chef Greg deserves tremendous recognition because the meal was unforgettable from start to finish. What truly made the night magical was the staff. Sierra and Tracy gave us one of the best dining experiences we have ever had anywhere. Her energy, kindness, professionalism, and genuine joy lit up the entire evening. We completely fell in love with her London, England accent and the way she made every person at the table feel special. She captured moments for us with her camera, laughed with us, connected with our family, and made the whole night feel personal instead of transactional. That level of hospitality is rare. The directors and entire team treated us like honored guests instead of visitors. My mother could not stop talking about how appreciated and celebrated she felt. For an assisted living community to create an experience this elevated, warm, and memorable says everything about the culture and leadership at StoryPoint Shaker Heights. This was not just a dinner. It was an experience filled with love, elegance, joy, and community. Five stars is honestly not enough. Thank you to Sierra, Tracy, and Chef Greg, the directors, and the entire StoryPoint team for giving our family memories we will never forget. Happy Mother’s Day indeed.

Restricted entry after 8 pm. Must ring nurse office to enter. They were very accommodating and understanding of our brief stay (two weeks). Important to note they provided hospice care. Not sure all AL facilities offer that.

I would like to commend Ms. Pat Mosby, the Dining Room Manager at Story Point, for the outstanding service she provided during a recent birthday celebration for my family member on April 27, 2025. Ms, Mosby was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful to all of our guests. Her professionalism and warm demeanor made the evening more special. We truly appreciate the care and attention she gave to ensure everything went smoothly. Thank you, Ms. Mosby, for making the experience so memorable.

Frequent staff turnover and sometimes not enough staff to respond to residents in a timely manner, but even the new staff are friendly and helpful. Bathrooms could use a more thorough cleaning, but average. Chef prepared meals. The chef meets w each new resident to learn of their preferences. Excellent selection of meals. Dining room is beautiful, like a restaurant w cloth napkins, very nice dinnerware and goblets. No plastic utensils, except when a virus was going around. When there was a virus going around, everyone was confined to their room and meals were brought to each resident 3 times a day. Music presentations. Movies, day outings, exercise classes, hair salon available certain days, family and friends holiday dinners, crafts, and lectures. Room and board has a yearly rate that increases each year. Level of care is added, 3 levels available depending upon the resident. Level of care is set up w the initial admission, then after 1 month then routinely every 6 months. Level of care will be re-evaluated if the health status of the resident changes for a month or more. I found Story Point to be much more reasonable w pricing and level of care than several I visited. They have extra levels that allow for a 1, 2, or 3 person assist rather than just one person, which was very valuable for my husband, especially as his level of care changed sometimes monthly. I found Story Point to be the friendliest even w frequent staff changes of a previous assisted living facility. They almost always stop to talk with you, call you by name, even the administrative members. They also cry with you when your loved one passes. The apartments are perfect size w generous sized bathroom. Kitchen has the necessities, sink, cabinets, and refrigerator. No need for an oven or extra appliances as a dishwasher. The building is very modern and exceptionally clean, also always smells nice.

Our experience w Story Point has been truly positive. The staff are very friendly, stopping to talk w residents in the hallways, calling them by name, and always asking if there’s anything they can help with. Quick response times w call buttons are appreciated and necessary. Each resident is greeted by the chef. He asks about likes, dislikes, and portion sizes. The food and menu selection is restaurant 5 star. Story Points is in a wonderful location and the facility itself is beautiful. [name removed] is knowledgeable about everything or can find out quickly. She is wonderful. I highly recommend Story Point for assisted living especially after moving my husband in/out of previous facilities that did not meet our expectations or needs. I classify Story Point as an acute care assisted living facility as they are able to care for residents w extra care needs.

It’s exciting to hear about all that is happening at Harbor Chase. Under the leadership of Terry Hornikel , Harbor Chase will be an exceptional place to live . Residents undoubtedly can rest assured that Terry and her team will be strong advocates for them and will make Harbor Chase a comfortable and safe home that they can enjoy .

Harbor Chase is so beautiful yet comfortable and feels like home.The director and staff make the residents their clear priority and aim to meet their needs, large or small.

My best friends mother was placed in the memory care unit. She absolutely loved the initial tour and care she is receiving. Ms. Hornikel is uplifting, compassionate and professional. One can tell she really cares about the residents. I highly recommend Harbor Chase.

My dad lives here. The front line staff are excellent, uniformly polite and kind to my dad and to us when we visit. Not a sour apple among them. From reading these reviews, it seems to me that Patrice has a well-earned fan club somewhere. She deserves it. Never seen her stressed, even when working both the dining room and the bar. I'm just waiting to get old enough that I can move in and see her more often.
