Shining Every Day at Heritage Hill
Life at Heritage Hill is filled with moments of joy and connection, from engaging on-site activities to exciting outings in the local community.
- Pink-Tober Painting: Decked out in pink, we turned our happy hour into a pink-out for “Pink Tober” with delicious theme drinks and painting. Our Executive Director led a painting program where the residents had to paint for two minutes and pass the painting onto the next resident. They turned out great, and we had so many laughs. We are celebrating all those that have been cured, cheering for those still fighting, and honoring those who have lost their battle with breast cancer.
- Thumb Octagon Barn: A group of residents and team members took a tour of the Octagon Barn in Tuscola County. The history here is like none other. Our residents learned so much about the property, like what year it was built and why it was built into an Octagon.
- Veterans Hero Museum: With Veterans Day approaching, we took a trip to Frankenmuth, MI, to visit the Veterans Hero Museum. Our residents got a tour of all the artifacts — there were nearly 1,000 different things to see! What the residents found the most special was that every single piece, picture, and veteran was from Michigan. After the museum, we headed to the Bavarian Inn restaurant to order some delicious food. Many of the residents ate here for special date nights, so it was nice to return all together!
- Detroit Tigers Game: We loaded up our community shuttle and drove to the 313 to watch the Detroit Tigers play against the Chicago White Sox, and we cheered them on in victory! Some residents haven’t been to a Tigers game in over 60 years. We thank our two StoryPoint Group sister communities for tagging along with us: Bayfield Assisted Living (offering senior living in Bay City, MI) and Devonshire (offering senior living in Lapeer, MI). We love creating friends with our pals in other communities!
