My sister and I looked at several facilities for our father. Sunrise Shelby was the best by far. We felt very comfortable with the entire process. Mark runs an exceptional facilty. The caregivers and nursing staff are very compassionate, understanding and are always immediately available for the residents. The rooms are very nice and make your loved one's feel at home. Meals are all inclusive. There are many activities to participate. The grounds and interior are well maintained and very nice. We are always greeted by name from the receptionists when we visit. Stevie is a bright young lady who is very positive and always smiling. It is refreshing to see someone like her take a genuine care of the guests and residents. The other receptionists are just as friendly. Vanessa and the entire care staff do a great job. We couldn't be happier with the entire facility and our father certainly enjoys being at Sunrise Shelby. My friend, who does a tremendous amount of research, also chose Sunrise Shelby years ago for his mother. He also was very satisfied. Sunrise Shelby is highly recommended. Awesome facility and staff. When my grandmother got surgery, she stayed for a total of 3 months. When we first arrived for tour, we had stevie, and stevie was an absolute doll! She was very knowledgable on the building, and her praise for the facility came true! Through out my grandmas stay, Stevie stayed attentive to her needs, with frequent follow ups with myself. My grandmother always asks “can we go back to sunrise to see stevie?”! I highly recommend sunrise to anybody and their loved ones!

After moving my mother from another facility where we experienced staffing shortages, inconsistent care, multiple falls, and long wait times when she needed help, the difference at Sunrise was immediate. The moment she arrived, we felt an incredible sense of relief. The staff were attentive, compassionate, and genuinely cared about my mother. They knew her by name, spoke about how much they enjoyed her, and always responded quickly when she needed assistance. For the first time in a long time, I didn't have to constantly worry about her safety or well-being. What meant the most was how they treated both my mother and family. They knew all of our names, welcomed us warmly, and truly made us feel like part of a community rather than just another resident and family. When my mothers health began to decline, the kindness and compassion they showed during those final stages meant everything to us. They treated her with dignity, patience, and genuine love. My family was impressed with the level of professionalism, caring, thoughtfulness, understanding and empathy of the entire staff at Sunrise. My father, unfortunately, had a short stay there before his passing, but we felt as if he'd lived there for years, as the staff knew our names almost immediately. We felt comfortable and welcome there everyday. Additionally, we loved the resident dog.

The facility was terrific, the staff were great! Unfortunately my mom didn't care for Sunrise Senior Living in Shelby Township MI. But that's her fault and certainly not the fault of the staff! My mom moved back to her condo in Clinton Twp MI because of her preference of being alone and not being appreciative of the many offerings at Sunrise Senior Living in Shelby Township. I wish that she could stay there, but she's very stubborn and still thinks she can live on her own.

My mother lived at Sunrise Shelby Township on the memory care floor. We came to Sunrise after another assisted living facility ([community removed]) was unable to provide the care she needed. What a blessing it was to find Sunrise! The care, staff, and administration far surpassed anything that [community removed]could or did provide. The staff at Sunrise, especially the memory care floor, was exceptional. They cared for my mom with love and compassion. They worked hard to understand her needs, wants, and preferences. They ALL treated her with dignity. The care she received was excellent. Even small things, like choosing to dress her thoughtfully, were consistent. Outfits matched, were clean (never soiled or in disrepair) and fit her. They took items out of rotation if they no longer fit or if were damaged. This is just one example of how every aspect of her care was done with dignity. I am convinced that Sunrise only hires people who truly love all humans and see the value in every soul.

Sunrise of Shelby has such a home style feeling where everybody is your neighbor/ friend. I may not know all the residents by names but they all greet me when I come in, I am there every day to see my person. My hat goes to every staff member there, my resident cannot say one bad thing about the staff members there they are so good to him. If you need to put a loved one anywhere, Sunrise of Shelby is the place.

Sunrise Senior Living of Shelby Township has been a blessing for my dad. The staff is friendly, caring, compassionate and supportive. I know that my dad is safe and cared for. There are plenty of varied activities to appeal to everyone. A very nice building is clean and comfortable. Highly recommend!
